Derek (Zhuofu) Tao is a senior year Computer Science student at the University of Waterloo with a passion for software development, music, and gaming. At Sensetime, he designed and implemented multiple web services, including an alert service with email and WeChat, a Redis allocation service, and an authentication service. At The League, he designed and implemented a NodeJS microservice to handle image upload, cloud storage, and processing, as well as enhanced a data migration tool. Derek's education history includes a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo, where he has been studying since 2015. He has also gained experience in various technologies such as software engineering, web3, Redis, backend, web, NodeJS, and microservices. In his free time, Derek enjoys playing the piano and gaming.
